Whiffle Tree Flight Load Simulator

 

     Test fixture to simulate re-entry heat shields for advanced sensor technology development.

     Pyramid Space designed the E2-C’s aircraft interface for the load calibration testing at NASA Armstrong.  The aircraft upgrades increased the gross takeoff weight of the aircraft requiring extensive testing both on the ground and in the air.

     The center of gravity/ motion of inertia test fixture for the Orion PA-1 capsule was used prior to the flight test to find the exact position of the CG-MOI.  Testing was conducted at the NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center.

     While designing loading systems for wings and control surfaces, Pyramid Space supports hypersonic wing test structures.  These tests include but are not limited to horizontal loads, vertical loads, and external pressure loads.
